Whirlwind Days
Life has been a bit of a whirlwind of late, running from one activity to another with Kate and Maggie. How good it is to be able to enjoy busy days blessed with the gifts of life and health to do so. It's hard to believe that Kate's graduation is just a few weeks away. Her life is moving at a steady pace preparing for all that goes with graduation...writing papers, studying for exams, prom and senior dinner dance. Kate had a wonderful time at the prom. She is stronger physically, so she was able to enjoy dancing and the whole evening more that last year. Seeing Kate look so beautiful and healthy brought tears to my eyes and filled my heart with joy. This weekend found Kate modeling once again in a fashion to benefit the Angels R' Us fund of the Beaver County Cancer and Heart Association. We were blessed by the programs of this wonderful organization and Kate loves knowing she is now able give back with her time so that others might be blessed. This week we will attend a reception at the Make A Wish Foundation in Pittsburgh, where Kate will be honored as one of the recipients of the 2008 Kurt R. Weiss Scholarship for Wish Kids. What a special honor and gift to help Kate on her way to the next chapter of her life.
Maggie finished strong in her track season. We were so proud when she took first place in the triple jump and her relay team placed at a track invitational where 8 other schools were competing. This past weekend she and two friends ran in a benefit race and their team took first place. How grateful I am that the exercise induced asthma that she was diagnosed with in 6th grade, has not restricted her participation in the sports and activities she so much enjoys. Maggie is busy preparing for her ballet revue at the end of this month. I truly love watching the beauty and grace with which she dances - what a contrast to when she's diving after the basketball on the court!
This is a busy season in our lives. We have been so encouraged by recent notes and conversations when people have reminded us that they are still praying for us on daily basis. Kate is where she is today as a result of prayer and God's grace. Thank you for continuing to "stand" with us.
Stayed tuned for Prom Pictures
