Special Request: Thursday Sept.13th-MRI

In light of the fact that Kate is struggling with nausea again and she has been experiencing headaches on and off over the last week, her oncologist's office called today and has scheduled an appointment for this Thursday, September 13th. She will have an MRI scan at 10:00 am followed by an appointment around 2:00 pm with her oncologist at the clinic to determine what might be causing these headaches and the return of the nausea. The scan will include the brain, brain with contrast and spine with contrast. As you can imagine, MRI's are always a source of anxiety. We are trusting, believing and praying that God's hand print will be upon this MRI and there will be no tumor related causes for Kate's nausea and headaches. I must be honest the spirit of fear has clutched at my heart this afternoon and I am doing my best to walk by faith and put my trust in God who created Kate and knows our every need. Kate came home from school and also said she feels scared, but confidently added that she knows God's hand print will be on the scan either way. Please ask for God's mercy and an amazing grace gift with a clear scan. Please pray with us that the scan time will pass quickly and that God's peace will create in Kate's heart and mind a calmness as she endures the lengthy time on the scan table and that we will both be able to rest in Him. Thank you for lifting this need, Kate, Maggie and me in prayer.

    Hey, girls!

Kate, we can't imagine how difficult it must be to balance all of the important things in the midst of your "feeling bad". We are excited about your return to school and praying for these tests to show "NOTHING"! As a people-helper, I can't believe I'm praying it's adjustment stress but that would be far better than the alternatives! Maggie- continue to be the spunky, faithful follower of Christ that you are- Elaine- His strength is perfect....

    Dear Kate, Maggie and Elaine,

I realize each one of you has to be dealing with so much today and the emotions are probably right at the surface. I was praying and Hebrews 6 just came to my mind. In the beginning it talks of leaving the elementary teachings behind and pressing on to maturity in Christ Jesus. I realize that the road you all have walked hasn't been easy, if nothing else it has been at times difficult and wrought with pain. However, you all have shown such maturity in Christ- It has caused me to see the word come to life today. Living and breathing because you are walking in Christ and it is apparent because who could walk the road you all are walking and not be bitter, angry or hurt. It is God's strength in you, His grace pouring out on those around you, His mercy in the face of difficulty , His Peace in the midst of fearful times, His Love that flows from every part of your life.

I pray that you will go back and read Hebrews 6 and that you will pay special attention to verses 13-20 .

" This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil, where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek".

May this Hope we have in Christ be the Anchor of your SOUL as you enter that MRI machine. As Maggie awaits the news and results, as you Elaine hold fast and wait by your Daughters sides.... May He be your Hope, your Strength , your Peace, and more than anything else may His Love pour out on all those around you....

    He is able !

    Love to you three,
    melissa h. and fam........
